For the first time ever, Spark Inside is delivering outside of London and the South-East, as this week we began our award-winning Hero’s Journey life coaching programme in HMP Lincoln.
We are delighted to be able to extend our coaching in prisons programme, in partnership with Lincolnshire Action Trust, who offer a range of resettlement and rehabilitation interventions to prepare people for their release.
Jerry and Sam, two Spark Inside coaches who are co-delivering Hero’s Journey in Lincoln, are pleased to be back in prisons after we were forced to pause in-person work due to the pandemic.
Life Coach Jerry said:
“It’s great to be delivering workshops with Sam in Lincoln prison. It’s 16 months since my last workshop in a London prison, which was ‘Covid-cancelled’ on the day shortly before the first lockdown. I’m keen to get back to what we do best – working with young people in person. There is something about being in a room together that just cannot be replicated virtually. And Lincolnshire Action Trust have a very strong relationship with HMP Lincoln so I’m really looking forward to partnering with them on this programme.”
Life Coach Sam said:
“I fully believe in the power of the Hero’s Journey. To be asked to share the message with more young people that it could have a substantial impact on is an honour. The collaboration between Lincolnshire Action Trust and Spark Inside will be a fruitful one, which will only benefit the young people further.”
The Hero’s Journey life coaching programme has been statistically proven to improve young men’s wellbeing, their confidence and resilience, and their decision-making and problem-solving skills, as well as improving their perspective on the future.
Our CEO, Vicki Cardwell said:
“We think coaching should be in every prison. So, I’m very interested in the partnership approach to delivering our Hero’s Journey programme in the rest of the country, which we are doing with the hope that it will enable us to reach more young men. This is a first for us at Spark Inside, and I’m excited to be doing it with the excellent team at Lincolnshire Action Trust.”
Lincolnshire Action Trust’s CEO, Alison Goddard said:
“This collaboration has been a long time in the making due to Covid, so we are really pleased to finally be able to collaborate with Spark Inside to bring their Hero’s Journey coaching programme to benefit young men at HMP Lincoln.”
