At the end of last year, we were delighted to bring our Hero’s Journey life coaching programme to young people in HMP Brixton for the first time!
We are delighted to be expanding into more prisons, and that we can now reach even more young people with our life changing coaching programmes – as now more than ever, young people in contact with the justice system will need what coaching provides: the tools, the confidence and the determination to carve out a brighter future for themselves.
In October last year, we were pleased to welcome the brilliant Elijah to the Spark Inside Team. As Service Delivery Manager, Elijah will be working specifically in HMP Brixton, meeting the young men on the wings and encouraging them to embark on their Hero’s Journey and start to plan for a future that excites them.
In December our first Hero’s Journey programme in HMP Brixton saw 100% attendance, with a group of committed, enthusiastic young people embracing the opportunity to identify where they are on their journey and how they want to move forward.
One young person in HMP Brixton who took part in the Hero’s Journey told us:
“I really like the fact that we did most of the talking and got to hear from each other.”
We are looking forward to delivering another Hero’s Journey in HMP Brixton this month, and look forward to continuing to build relationships with the young people, and staff, and see the positive impact that coaching has in creating a truly rehabilitative environment.
