One of the best ways to kick off the week is with a reminder that all of us have the power to make transformational changes to our lives: the ethos underpinning coaching. So here’s a bit of #MondayMotivation from all of us at Spark Inside.
I can’t quite believe nearly a decade has passed since I was motivated to develop an initiative with young people in prison. It’s almost seven years since Spark Inside was launched based on conversations with young people whose lives had been impacted by prison and the wider criminal justice system. Since then, we have coached over 1,000 prisoners and prison staff through our two programmes, The Conversation and Hero’s Journey™.
Our approach is gaining real traction, but we still face some challenges around explaining what ‘coaching’ is and ensuring that we’re known for coaching prison staff and adults in prison, not just young people through Hero’s Journey™. Therefore, we’ve been working hard on a new way to tell our story and today:
I am delighted to announce our brand new animation.
Through this short film, we hope to convey the experience of what Spark Inside does, why we do it, and to hopefully motivate others to support our work. We are proud that the design elements you will see are based on original sketches made by young people in London prisons – carrying forward our commitment to collaboration and co-design with our participants and stakeholders. #MondayMotivation
