Prison officers are justice heroes.
As part of our response to COVID-19, we’ve adapted our services to offer life coaching to prison officers who work in the prisons where we usually coach young men. One of our life coaches, Dorottya Szuk, blogged about the service for Russell Webster.
Dorottya says:
Prison officers are hidden key workers and their job has been forced to change with the virus, while people are locked in their cells for 23 hours a day and more, whilst worrying about their own and their families’ health, and the health of those in their care. It is stressful. They are justice heroes. If we can give the front-line workers the support they need and deserve, I am certain that they will ultimately be better at their jobs.
In the blog, Dorottya describes how coaching prison officers can also benefit the people they are looking after — people in prison.
