We met Rob when he was being released from prison and asked if he’d be interested in participating in our Hero’s Journey programme with one of our excellent life coaches in the community. Rob took up our offer and told us about his experience.
This is Rob’s story.
I found it amazing man. It’s definitely transformed me, and I feel like it’s just put things into perspective. Whenever I have a session, I feel pumped up for that week; it’s just guiding me and putting my thoughts into like, more order. I’ve definitely found that helpful. I really believe I needed that.
I liked that there were no limits to the coaching. Whatever level, or wherever I was at within my journey, I was able to share that with my coach and get a different perspective, you know, he understood where I was coming from.
Life coaching has helped me to have awareness of what’s going on within my life and how I want my life to be. It’s increased my belief in myself. Just speaking to my coach, the fact that he could recognise and see that I have a bright future — that gave me more belief and confidence within myself, like I’m going down the right path. My head, my mind is in the right place.
I’d recommend the Hero’s Journey programme one thousand percent. All my friends were jealous when I told them I got a life coach! I really would advise other young people coming out of prison to give it a go — you’re not losing anything by trying, you’re gaining — that’s how I’ve seen this whole process. It was definitely a good experience.
